Unselfish service

unselfish service

Day 13- Pray that your husband use practical skills to build your family and make wise decisions for your welfare. Pray that he will serve unselfishly.

Galatians 5:13 For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

Philippians 2:3-4 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

Unselfish service is tiring. It is exhausting and draining. But it is also so fulfilling and rewarding. It is what God calls all of His children to do. We are to love others and to serve them in His love and through His spirit. In a marriage it is important that each spouse serve the other with 100% of themselves. Holding nothing back. Hopeless abandon to the needs and desires of their partner. Using every ounce of strength and energy to lovingly help the other grow closer to the Lord and deeper in their walk. Iron sharpens iron.
