Frugal Family Fun

If you are like us your family is always looking for fun things to do together to make memories. But it is often times hard to find frugal family fun ideas. So today I want to share with you some of my favorites for our family.

* Festivals/Street Parties – Almost all throughout the year there are churches, towns, or businesses offering some sort of festival or celebration.. These are usually free for most things and those that do cost are usually pretty affordable.

* Water – Whether you live near a river, a creek, a lake, or even just a stream throwing rocks in the water, wading in the creek, or catching “creatures” in net can be hours of fun!

* YouTube – Yes, you can find lots of trash on here but if you are careful YouTube can offer a fun family night when the weather is yucky out. We have had an international music night, spent watching music clips from different cultures. Or an evening filled with sharing old commercials from your childhood with your children.

* Building – Whether you use Legos, Lincoln Logs, Trio Blocks, or good old popsicle sticks create a challenge and let all the family members get busy creating their “entry” then end the night by photographing all the masterpieces and save the pictures to watch how the creations change through the years.

* Visit your local Conservation Area – Most  communities have at least one within a close proximity to them. Some of them are a simple wooded area while others are staffed full time and offer some structured learning. Either way this is a great way to get out of the house and into God’s creation for awhile. Pack a picnic lunch and wear your hiking shoes. Get ready to explore.

* Make a slip n slide – A simple tarp tacked down with some tent stakes and a hose to keep it wet and you will have hours of fun!

I just rededicated my life to the Lord on Nov. 7 2013. I have been searching for something to help me with my daily walk with Him.. This would keep me accountable for my Devotional time with Him .. It looks like an amazing book.. Thank you and God Bless you ..
