A Family Affair

We are very intentional about our family time. It is one of our top priorities for our family and not something that we take lightly. We MAKE it happen not just let it happen.

So the other weekend when I brought home three bushels of corn I saw it as a “Family Affair”.

We gathered around the table and everyone helped. From the oldest to the youngest we had silks and husks flying!! And in about two hours all of that corn was finished up and we all felt a huge sense of accomplishment.
I truly think that to give your children a good work ehtic you have to have them work along side of you. Sometimes work is done alone and other times in a big group. But if we teach them to be motivated only by the sense of accomplishment of a job well done then, when they are older, they will motivate themselves to work hard no matter who is watching or how low the pay. And having a good work ethic is one of our top priorities for our children. And this is one step on that journey.
