Making a Fitted Shirt Tutorial

See? Nice and long but just “frumpy”

I had several shirts that I just didn’t like the way that they fit. So, the other day, I pulled them out and set about fixing them. They were nice and long but just frumpy. They just hung on me and I didn’t like that. So first I laid the shirt out flat and trimmed the sides like a “fitted” shirt. I started at the bottom and trimmed up to just under the arm seam.

Trimmed sides of shirt

Next I floded the edges under and sewed the sides back up with my sewing machine. It took all of 5 minutes. Really, it was super easy!!

A new look!!

And now look! A nice fitted shirt that is still long but has a nice look to it and isn’t so baggy.

  1. I have a few shirts that are way to big for me but I still love them. I’ll have to do this!
