Oh the ooey, gooey, goodness of Monkey Bread.

Can’t you just taste it? Smell it?
And now you know you want to make some!!

And here is how!!

Combine –

2 eggs with enough warm water to make 1 1/3 cups

1/4 cup oil or applesauce

1/4 cup sugar or honey

4 cups flour ( you can use a combination of white/wheat if you would like)

1 package (2 1/4 tsp) yeast

Mix all ingredients in a bread machine on the dough setting until done or mix all thoroughly and then knead until smooth. Place in a greased bowl in a warm place until doubled in size.

When dough is done, tear of small pieces (you will be letting the dough rise again so make sure the pieces are smaller for now) and roll in a mixture of cinnamon and sugar. As you roll each piece place them into a greased Bundt pan. When about 2/3 of the dough* has been torn, rolled in the cinnamon sugar and placed in the pan let rise again for 20-30 min. After the dough has risen you will heat a mixture of 2/3 cup butter, 2/3 cup sugar, and 2 tsp cinnamon on the stove until it boils. Once the butter is melted and the mixture has boiled pour it gently over the risen bread. Now bake at 350 for between 30-45 minutes. Watching carefully not to burn the top of the bread, I check mine often after about 25 min.  When the bread is done allow it to cool for 10min in the pan and then transfer onto a plate. And make sure to keep your mouth closed as the first sight of your work might just make you drool!!
