Bulk Food.

I shop at Sam’s.

Ever been there?

Huge boxes. High shelves.Over-sized cans. Everything SUPER sized!!

But for a momma to a family of (soon to be) seven bigger packages and bulk food are a plus. They are even more of a help after your huband builds you a HUGE pantry in the basement to hold all of that bulk food that a momma can buy at Sam’s and other places. Watch out sales, here I come.

If you hear or see any good sales in the area please let me know!! I will be taking advantage of any and all super sales to fill this pantry up!

Here are a few pictures of my new pantry –

We still need to install the shelves in it but you can see some of the food that I have started to stock up on. I honestly can’t wait for next summer to have a big garden and to fill the shelves of this new pantry with fresh canned produce that I have canned. Not to mention what a help this extra food will be while I am sticking close to home with a newborn (that will be here in 1 week!!!)

I am so thankful for this new pantry. This post is linked to “Gratituesday” over at Heavenly Homemakers. Be sure to check out her wonderful website as this week is full of recipes and giveaways.

  1. from your chip bags looksl ike you shop at Aldi, too. Awesome store. If you have a Wal-Mart nearby, they are supposed to have Swanson chicken broth for 50 cents per can. That’s pretty cheap for name brand and can go a long way with soups and etc. They also from time to time have this ‘creamette quick cook’ pasta. Great for big families, because, well, more hungry mouths. It’s usually around $1.15 per box, and lately I have found a TON of them with 50 cent off stickers. That makes them cheaper than the shaped generic pasta even (often $1/box). You can’t go wrong with plain macaroni, but if your kids like the shaped ones (rotini, penne), then this is a great way to stock up for between 60 and 65 cents a box. Campbells right now has printable coupons for what equates to 50/per can off, and last I checked the big cans were 1.25. You’d probably have to open a few cans, but, you can’t beat 75 cents, even at Aldi. Coupons are at chunky.com umm.. yeah that’s about all I know right now.
