Italian Salad Recipe – Olive Garden Style

This is a recipe for the Italian salad like that of Olive Garden style. If you love the Italian salad that is served at places such as Olive Garden and Pasta House this is the salad recipe is for you! I love their salad but can’t stand to pay that kind of price for a salad. So, I set out to make it at home. This recipe is easy to make and is a hit everywhere I take it. It is super low calorie and full of fiber.

Italian Salad (Olive Garden style)

2 heads of romaine lettuce, chopped

1 lrg tomato, diced

1/2 mild onion, sliced (optional)

Toss all of the salad ingrdients in a large bowl.

Dressing –

1/2 cup oil (I just use canola or vegtable oil but you can use olive oil if you like)

1/4 cup red wine vinegar (this is VINEGAR not cooking wine)

1/2 cup parmesean cheese

Whisk all of these together until well blended. Pour over salad. This salad is best if allowed to rest for at least 20-30 minutes prior to serving.
