Homemade Taco Pizza Recipe

This amazing recipe is quick and easy to throw together for a fun and different dinner idea. This homemade taco pizza recipe idea came to me one day after a childhood memory conjured up thoughts about a favorite meal as a child. Living way out in the country it was almost impossible for mom to get frozen foods home. So she called and started getting visits from the Schwan’s guy. You know the ones, bright yellow trucks, amazaingly good ice cream and delicious frozen foods for double the price of stores because of the convenience of delivery? Yep, that’s the one. But when I was growing up they had these little taco pizzas that my mom would buy for lunches and I loved them! They were my favorite.

So, the other day after remembering these yummy taco pizzas I decided that I would try to recreate it to the best of my ability. So, I whipped up a batch of homemade pizza crust and got to work.

After you have made your crust and spread it out in your pan (I used a large cookie sheet with sides for my homemade taco pizza) spread the crust with refried beans (canned or homemade either one but if canned you may need to add a little water to make them spreadable). Sprinkle on taco seasoned meat and your favorite cheese. Lastly add a generous sprinkle of your favorite taco sauce on top. I have a homemade recipe almost ready to share but just not quite yet, be looking for it!!

Once your layers are on your crust you are ready to bake. Bake your homemade taco pizza at 375 degrees for about 30 minutes or until your crust is nice and golden brown.

large family living

I hope that your family falls in love with this recipe as much as my family did. We love this pizza and have it several times a month for dinner. Because I now make refried beans in large batches and freeze them and I usually always have taco meat in the freezer I love how quickly this meal comes together.
