E”x”cited – Blogging through the Alphabet

I can not believe that my blogging through the alphabet journey is almost over as is this year of my life! This week I am sooooo e”x”cited because today is my birthday!! I am so thankful for another year. It was another year full of blessings and making memories. The older that I get the faster that it seems times passes. This year has been a full one and a busy one.

We did lots of school

In this season of my life homeschooling is one of the most time consuming responsibilities that I have. I love homeschooling my children. It is hard and there are days that it makes me question my abilities but at the end of everyday I know that it is what God wants for our family at this time. I have loved how homeschooling has helped me with this blogging through the alphabet journey. Over the years this has become not only a large family blog but even more so a large family homeschooling blog. Because when I finally allowed myself to embrace homeschooling as it works for us and quit trying to make our home function as a classroom, it became a huge passion of mine. I want to shout it from the rooftops, “You can enjoy homeschooling!”

Summer time found us often around the water. Fishing, boating, swimming, you name it and my family enjoys it. We also enjoy trips to my parents’ farm. The children love the animals and the big pool and this momma enjoys the slower pace of life and the peace of being able to allow the children to run and explore without the fear of traffic or strangers.

I experienced the wonder and amazement of my sixth pregnancy and C-section birth this year as well. The miracle of God’s design for bringing new life into this world never ceases to amaze me. I just shake my head when I think about the fact that my body grow her. Isn’t God just wonderful!?!

Learning a dying art, processing meat for the dinner table.

As my children grow I love watching them learn new skills each year. This year Josiah “graduated” from just a little boy running simple errands on butchering day to being one of the “men” outside processing the meat that will feed our family for the next year.

Overall this has been an exciting year.
