Momma, it’s okay, be encouraged

Momma, it's okay, be encouraged
Let’s sit and chat for bit, please.

Luke 12:27-30

27 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?

29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.

30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.

While I would love to sit down and have tea or coffee or a soda or whatever your “special” drink of choice is, that isn’t possible. So, today I want to spend a little time with you. Momma, it’s okay, be encouraged. This calling is tough. It is thankless and the hours are long. But this is one of the highest callings that God ever places on anyone. You are effecting the future. As you read that storybook for the hundredth time or build the same wooden block tower over and over again you are shaping the world. That little person whose nose you wipe and whose tears you dry will one day leave your sheltering watch and set out to be a world changer. The arrow in your quiver will all too soon be ready to be shot forth on their own. And just as you wouldn’t carelessly aim a real arrow at a target we can’t just aimlessly wonder through these early years and expect great things. We need to have a clear set goal and keep our focus on that. If outings and activities don’t help us to reach that goal then they shouldn’t take up our time. I know that the days seem so hard and long but we really can’t afford to waste a single minute of the precious gift of time with our children. We must be always filling them full of God’s Word, teaching them His ways and His love and showing them how to be the hands and feet of Christ to others.

So, as you start this week and are (if you are like my house) a little buried under the mess of the busy and full weekend, I just want to tell you, “Momma, it’s okay, be encouraged.” I am lifting each one of you up as I write this that you might be full of His strength and His love for the week ahead. Trust Him to guide your path momma, and don’t grow weary. You are doing world changing work and you are the perfect person for the job, God thought so too.

Isaiah 40:31

but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
