Praying for humility in your marriage is something that one must not only do for your spouse but also for yourself. Pride is so destructive in any relationship but in the marriage relationship it is disastrous. When two people try to share the same home, finances, and space each one must be humble enough to put the other spouse first. Each one must consider the other’s happiness and safety of utmost priority for the relationship to flourish. Praying for humility is God honoring, and living in humility is God instructed.
If one or both spouses is struggling with pride it will cause hurt to the other and will bring resentment and struggle into the marriage. Strive daily to die to yourself and put your spouse first. With prayer and spiritual growth you both will come to a place that meeting your partner’s needs brings great satisfaction. And it will be at this time you will stand in awe of the wonderful gift that marriage is to two people.
Day 11- Pray that your husband will have a humble, teachable spirit and a servant’s heart before the Lord. Pray that he will listen to God and desire to do His will. Praying for humility for both of you will prove beneficial in your marriage.
