Homemade Cinnamon Crunch Cheerios

Do you love flavored cereals? At our house we sure do but they are considered a rare treat. They aren’t very filling and their nutritional value is very light. But along with adding more fruit and veggies to our diet, increasing our vitamin consumption, and using more natural methods to treat our illnesses, I have been on a hunt for more nutritious snacks as well.

So over the weekend I wanted to use up some plain “cheerios” that no one was eating. I decided that cinnamon cheerios would be super yummy!! And I love the way they turned out!! And here is how I made these amazing CINNAMON CHEERIOS.

11 cups of cheerios
6 Tbsp melted butter
1/2 to 3/4 cup cinnamon sugar ( I made it pretty heavy on the cinnamon but you can make it to taste)

Pour the cereal into a large baking dish and preheat the oven to 250 degrees. Once your butter is melted pour it over the cereal and toss to coat well. Once the cereal is all “damp” start sprinkling on the cinnamon sugar. I just added it until I noticed that it was falling to the bottom of the pan and not sticking any more.

Then I baked it for 45 min stirring every 15 minutes. Then I allowed it to cool and poured it into an airtight container.
